Ladbrokespoker – Side games are referred to sometimes in relation to players at the WSOP, and can be very lucrative for the best players around. They usually involve cash games being played for high stakes, in between, or after other events have finished, but they are not exclusive to Las Vegas.

There are other types of sidegame played, with small scale tournaments sometimes starting up once players have been eliminated from the bigger game itself. This is something we managed to set up at our local game on Saturday, but the difference was that we were playing Omaha, and for a small buy in fee. The reason for this is that it would be good to introduce some of the players to this new game, and a smaller buy in fee might attract some interest to those who come over to observe the game.

I was lucky enough to win our little side tournament, but the main thing for me, was that we got several players interested. Playing a different game on the side can make a welcome change for players, and having any sort of side game at all makes for a more enjoyable evening I feel.

Rather than sitting at the bar wondering what went wrong in the main tournament, I would much rather be playing another game, even if the stakes aren’t all that high. You can introduce side games in home games too of course, and they are especially good for those reckless players who go out of the tournament early. In my opinion it is the best way to give players a way to carry on playing poker, without having to make the main tournament a re buy event.
