This one hand gone wrong, can often result in a chipstack being quickly damaged, and then it’s a difficult task to recover. With this in mind, I tend to tighten up a little, with the inevitable problem that whilst some players will be eliminated, others will build bigger stacks and when I start getting involved again, I only need to take one big hit to be severely damaged. Perhaps this middle phase of lengthy tournaments is my current weak point, but I have to work on it if I wish to compete successfully with these large fields.
