Ladbrokes Poker – Multi Table Tournament Problem

Posted by admin @ 12:00 AM, Monday Mar 30th, 2009

Ladbrokes poker.com – This is an aspect of the game that I used to be quite adept at, with MTT’s being my favourite form of the game.
The problem I found today, is that our skills can get rusty if not used for some time. That’s not to say I haven’t played any MTT’ recently, I do so every week, but the difference is that I have been playing smaller tournaments with around 30-200 entrants each tournament.

This is a comfortable sized tournament for me, and can be approached with the usual solid stack building early on, followed by the push towards the final table afterwards. I have found today though I get a little lost in the middle of tournaments with several thousand players. After building my stack to a comfortable level, I find that I am torn between two problems with a considerable distance to go before the final table. If I keep getting involved in pots, the risk of having one or two successive portions of very harsh luck will increase.

This one hand gone wrong, can often result in a chipstack being quickly damaged, and then it’s a difficult task to recover. With this in mind, I tend to tighten up a little, with the inevitable problem that whilst some players will be eliminated, others will build bigger stacks and when I start getting involved again, I only need to take one big hit to be severely damaged. Perhaps this middle phase of lengthy tournaments is my current weak point, but I have to work on it if I wish to compete successfully with these large fields. I shall write further on the subject when I rediscover what my play is lacking, and in the meantime, shall puncuate my larger tournaments with my favoured smaller scale MTT’s. Ladbrokes poker.com

Celeb Pocker Review

Posted by admin @ 12:00 AM, Monday Mar 16th, 2009

The first time deposit bonus is an immediate strength for www.celebpocker.com and they manage to offer more than some of the biggest poker rooms around which is a pleasant surprise. 200% up to an amount of 500 Euros is excellent value in terms of first time deposits, but this isn’t the only reason to like celebpocker.com.

Currently running is a ‘Freeroll Crazy’ promotion. This involves 60,000 Euros being given away and is very generous, especially when you consider that this type of promotion is unlikely to raise vast amounts of revenue on it’s own. Satellites and guaranteed tournaments are aso running too this month for those that want a larger prize pool to fight for, and I think there is a lot to get excited about if you play on celeb pocker at the moment.

As well as all this, there are informitive news sections onsite, and a poker school to help the newer players understand the games available to them. Holdem, Omaha, and also Stud games, make up the list of poker games available and should cover most players needs. The tables and graphics look quite good too, although I am always an advocate of more interactive character avatars.

Overall, I would recommend taking a look at the celebpocker homepage, as you will find much to attract your interest there, whether you are a beginner, or a seasoned player.

Pacificpocker.com Review

Posted by admin @ 12:00 AM, Monday Mar 9th, 2009

In terms of first time deposits, www.pacificpocker.com offer 100% up to an amount of £200. This is around the average offer, and is certainly enough to get your bankroll off on the right foot. There is poker schooling and beginners tables specifically for those new to the game which is far more helpful than simply being thrown in at the deep end.

In terms of promotional offers, pacificpocker.com give more than just their initial cash match bonus, you are also gifted tournament tickets to help start you off. There is a very good player point system in place here too, along with special promotions which are updated regularly to keep players coming back for more. There are qualifiers running to major live events too which shows Pacific also have the serious players in mind. Also there are many other promotional tournaments for those who may not have such lofty targets in mind, and refer a friend bonuses to help boost the bankroll too.

On a more serious note Pacific Poker recently held a charity event onsite, working alongside Shane Warne to raise money for the ‘bushfire relief appeal’. This is excellent to see and shows www.pacificpocker.com is run by generous and kind hearted people.
Pacific Poker continues to make strides forward in what is offers to it’s players, and the relatively good player traffic bears testament to the fact that many players enjoy spending their time and money here.

Poker.co.uk Review

As far as first time deposit bonuses go, Poker.co.uk match the industry average in most respects with a 100% bonus paid as you accumulate frequent player points. However they do offer 6 months to clear the required points which is significantly longer than many poker rooms online.

The visual feel of the tables, along with card designs are sharp and look professional I feel. The lobby is easy enough to navigate, and you will find a tournament schedule with enough variety to cater for most players needs. Holdem, Five Card Draw, and Seven card Stud are offered here which provides a certain amount of choice, but the obvious game missing from this list is Omaha.

One particular area where this poker room excels, is it’s informitive nature. Numerous outlets of information and latest news are available, as well as forums for players to discuss topics too. Poker school sections also help provide information for new players, ensuring they have the best possible chance of making a good start.
There are several different varieties of tournament on offer, with Single Table Tournaments, Heads Up Tournaments, and Multi Table Tournaments too. Some tournaments are listed especially for players who have earned a certain number of points, and 500 Euros are given away in freerolls each day.

Overall it would be nice to see slightly more abstract tournament types on offer such as Bounty Tournaments or tournaments with limited rebuys, but overall, I think the majority of players would be pleased with what is on offer. www.poker.co.uk may not be recognised as being among the top names yet, but with hard work and continual improvement they have every chance of being up with the best. poker.co.uk
