Chasing draws at celeb pocker is something which we are all inclined to do at some point.
Players at celebpocker may not like to be calling bets waiting for a card and rightly so. Every player would rather be sitting there holding the made hand already. But this is not the nature of poker. Often you have to call a raise or two to give yourself a chance of completing your hand, but this must be done with odds in mind.
You cannot for instance, profitably chase gutshot straight draws at www.celebpocker.com, in fact I personally hold barely any value in them at all. Four outs is simply not enough for me to go chasing a hand. At the other end of the spectrum, if you have an open ended straight flush draw on the flop, I would chase this hand in almost any circumstances.
This is because there are so many chances for you to make a big poker hand, that you simply have to continue in the pot. If you are raised and are considering calling, you also have to take into account the fact that your opponents aggression means you will likely win a significantly bigger pot if you make your hand. In general I would chase a flush draw for a reasonable sized bet, provided I still have the turn and river to try and hit it.
The same would apply for an open ended straight draw, although I am not as keen on these as flush draws. The only time you would find me calling raises with an inside straight draw in online poker is if I have a good pair or somthing to back it up also. If you have no back up with this type of draw, just lay it down if anyone raises in my opinion.

Poker in the UK is something which has developed and grown over the years very well. With live televised tournaments finding their way onto our T.V screens in early programmes such as ‘late night poker’ this caused many people with a passing interest in the game, to become increasingly captivated by it. Along with with this particular programme, were highlights of the World Series of Poker, bringing legends of the game into the spotlight for all British followers of the game to see.

Poker has of course been growing across the world for some years now, and it is difficult to say whether this would have still been the case if not for televised poker events. I think it would, although not quite on the same scale. whatever the reasons, poker in the UK is flourishing. Many home games are being played across the country, and I am sure casinos are seeing a marked increase in custom compared to 10 years ago too.
I think it is important that this trend continues in the UK, because in terms of British top professionals I feel that the UK is lagging behind a little. I am sure there are some who would point to the likes of David Ulliot and Joe Beevers as top quality British players, but I have to say I don’t agree. Beevers has no WSOP bracelets and no WPT titles, and Ulliot has only one of each. Don’t get me wrong, this is an excellent achievement to even win one, but it doesn’t exactly place such players amongst the greatest in the game.
We shouldn’t feel too down about such matters though, there will always be great players from other countries to capture the imagination, and there will always be poker played and enjoyed in our isles. That in itself, is a great thing.

Big pairs are always difficult to get away from for some players at www.pacificpocker.com.
After waiting so long to look dow at a big pair, a player might feel compelled to hang on to it at all costs. There are many situations I feel, when a player should look to force an opponent to go all in to call, either on, or before the flop, rather than give them a chance to make a bigger hand.
But too often they do not raise strongly enough for fear of making their opponent fold at pacificpocker.com. I have even seen some online poker players make a minimum raise preflop allowing four other players into a pot, then bemoan their bad luck when they lose to something like a (J,8) making a two pair.
That’s not bad luck, that’s bad play at www.pacificpocker.com. In the same way, calling raises with (A,A) would be bad play on a board of four hearts with straight possibilities.
Sometimes the obvious fact that they have gone behind in a poker hand can elude some less experienced players, and they end up losing all their chips because they couldn’t get away from a big pair.
If you genuinely feel you are beaten in this scenario, you have to detach yourself from the disappointment of having waited for a big pair and lost with them. If your reads tell you that you are behind in a hand you must trust them and not try and force the issue when you know the hand is lost. Just fold the hand and get on with the next.
You should never consider yourself tied to a hand just because you waited so long for it. Discretion as they say, is the better part of valour.

On the whole you would have to say that there is a huge amount of support for all the best players, from within the online poker community at ladbrokespoker.com.
Many players have their own favourite players, and follow their progress in big events. I don’t know if you could quite call these people ladbrokespoker ‘groupies’ or even those people who turn up at the World Series to watch the action, and the players at work.
It is certainly good to see these www.ladbrokespoker.com players getting support and encouragement from the crowds, and it’s good for poker I think, for players to have heroes of the game to aspire to. I think the type of people you would call ‘groupies’ haven’t infiltrated the poker scene on a large scale, perhaps partly because poker hasn’t infiltrated the everyday lives of the people on a large scale.
Sure, you could say that it has grown a larger following over the years, especially recently, but not on anywhere near the scale of rock bands in earlier years who first set the trend of having ‘groupies’. It is possible that as poker continues to grow at Ladbrokes poker, you might find bands of poker players who go to nearby events where their favourite player is entered.
But for the most part online poker events are held at venues all over the world, and the internet makes it possible to follow a players progress without having to travel around to watch them play. For these reasons I think it unlikely that poker players will ever have groupies in the same way as bands used to.
But they will, I’m sure, maintain some sort following and support in other forms worldwide, and that is a great thing to see.
